This was the first time that Maiden released a DVD single, as opposed to their
usual concert videos. This one contains the promotional video of 'Wildest Dreams',
as well as a couple of re-mixed songs from the
Brave New World album and a little extra in the form of a 2-minute video
interview of the musicians. The cover is yet again a still from the 'Wildest Dreams'
video.
Wildest Dreams (promo video) (Smith, Harris)
This is the 3D computer animation video of the song that appears on the
Dance Of Death album. The musicians are all portrayed there – and
by the way, this is the first Maiden video without the actual band members – and the
3D-Bruce is even singing, while the others are simply driving their futuristic cars and motorcycles,
racing through the empty spaces of some weird planet and all the way inside Eddie.
There are some funny headbanging, Eddie-masked little characters that are quite funny.
The quality is good, although it is nothing really outstanding nowadays.
This is the "rock mix" (whatever this means) version of the song from the
Brave New World album. It sounds a bit more raw than the one that appears
on the album and most of the synths have been removed – is this what they call
a "rock mix"? It sounds like this is the original version of the song as it was
before the orchestration was added.
Blood Brothers (rock mix) (Harris)
This is now the "rock mix" of the song that appears on the
Brave New World album. If anyone notices any difference with the original
version as can be heard on the album, please let me know, as I didn't hear much
change myself.
Dance Of Death – Behind The Scenes (video)
This very short video gives the band members their say about what was at the time the forthcoming album,
i.e., Dance Of Death. Quite honestly, this video is of very limited interest and was
probably good at the time because you could hear snippets of songs from the album before its
release. Other than that, there's nothing special about it and it looks a bit useless now.
Funnily enough, all the musicians are interviewed except Janick.
Let's hope that this is only because he was not available on that day!
