This is the limited edition of the Wicker Man single from the
Brave New World album. It contains 2 CDs and a double-faced
poster, as well as a selection of live songs recorded during the
Ed Hunter Tour. The live songs, sung by Bruce Dickinson, cover three
main periods corresponding to the respective tenures of Iron Maiden's three
lead vocalists: from the "Beginnings" with 'Killers' (Paul Di'Anno),
to the "Golden Age" with 'Powerslave' (Bruce Dickinson), and to
the "Rejuvenation" period with 'Man On The Edge' and 'Futureal'
(Blaze Bayley). Although it is a bit disappointing – this release contains
twice 'The Wicker Man' and, with the exception of 'Killers', 'Powerslave' and
the 'Futureal' video, there's nothing new as compared to the standard single
– it is still worth having, just to hear Dickinson sing his colleagues' songs
as well as a classic of his own.
The cover represents a detail of
Mark Wilkinson's
original illustration.
